Work We Turn Down
Most of the houses we work on in Fort Walton Beach went up between 1973 and 2013, with the heaviest run through the 1970s and 80s. That's the stock across the seven areas we cover, and it means we see a narrow band of door ages and hardware types, not fifty years of mismatched parts. That's a good thing for us and for you: fewer surprises, more common parts on the truck.
What we don't do: we won't quote a repair on a door that's structurally shot just to get a job. If the panels are rusted through, the track is bent past straightening, or the opener has been rewired by three different people over the years, we'll tell you replacement is the honest answer, even if that's not what you called about.
We also don't touch gate operators or commercial rolling doors - that's a different trade with different parts, and we'd rather send you elsewhere than guess. If a job needs a part with a long lead time, we say so up front instead of promising a date we can't hit.
What Happens After You Call
You call the number, you talk to someone who works on doors, not a call center reading a script. We ask what the door is doing - won't open, opens crooked, makes a bang and stops, opener runs but nothing moves - because that tells us what's likely broken before a truck ever leaves.
On site, we look at the spring, cables, rollers, track alignment, and the opener itself, since on a house from the 1973-2013 build range those are the parts that wear out in a predictable order. We'll tell you what's actually wrong, what it costs to fix, and whether fixing it makes sense compared to a new door - some old torsion setups on older builds in this stretch aren't worth pouring more money into once the drum or track is shot.
If parts aren't on the truck, we tell you that too, rather than leaving you guessing about a return visit. No pressure to decide on the spot. It's your garage and your money.
