Work We Turn Down
A lot of houses in this area went up between the 1960s and the 1990s, with the bulk of that stock built in the 1960s and '70s across the seven neighborhoods we work in. That means we run into a fair number of original doors and hardware that just aren't worth chasing parts for anymore. If a door's track is bent past true, the panels are rusted through from salt air, or the opener is a discontinued model with no replacement logic board, we'll tell you straight that replacement is the better move rather than billing you for a repair that won't hold.
We don't do new construction installs as part of a builder contract, and we don't touch gates, fences, or non-residential rolling doors. If your torsion spring size is nonstandard for a door built well outside that 1973-2013 range, we may need to special-order the part, and that means the job won't happen same-day. We'd rather say that up front than promise a fix and leave you waiting on hardware that isn't on the truck.
We also won't recommend a spring or cable job as a patch on a door that's structurally shot. If the section is cracked or the track is pulling away from the framing, patching it just moves the failure to next month.
What Happens After You Call
